My TEDx Talk is now LIVE!
I mean this one’s not exactly a secret…
If you follow me on - well, literally anything… you’ll have seen that my TEDx talk is now LIVE on YouTube!
It’s been two months of anxious anticipation since I stood up on that stage and shared my story with (apparently) the world.
I almost didn’t believe I’d really done it.
I hadn’t seen it either until it was already available for everyone to watch. I think by the time I saw it myself I was already behind 120 or so people who had seen it before me…
Over 1,000 people had seen it in the first 24 hours.
In less than a week, it has now been viewed by coming up for 2,000 people.
In my head I’m still just thinking ‘what the actual fuck’…
I can’t honestly believe how many people have taken the time to watch me talking for 15 whole minutes about my story - my identity.
I have been blown away and overwhelmed with the incredibly supportive and loving messages I have received from my friends, family, people I haven’t even spoken to for years and complete strangers!
When I wrote my blog post about the journey of becoming a TEDx speaker I alluded to the vulnerability of it but I think now that it is being watched and digested, people are really seeing how much I let my own barriers down to share what I did on that stage.
It is raw. It is vulnerable. It is me.
I was nothing more than simply myself telling my own personal story of what identity means to me.
I am so glad that it is resonating in some way with everyone who has been watching it and I hope that it continues to do so for many years to come.
